Collier County Sheriff's Office launches $300k opioid overdose prevention program

The Collier County Sheriff's Office is launching a $300,000 safety program to prevent fentanyl overdoses in the community.

The Laced and Lethal campaign has four pillars to help law enforcement prepare for and prevent overdoses: schools, community, enforcement, and training.

The sheriff's office has raised half of its budget from local partners. Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said the office will not have to pay for anything other than what's already factored into its law enforcement budget.

"We know we will get the rest of that funding," he said. "So we believe that the community will pitch in to fund the initial cost of this program and beyond."…
