Are there really fewer homeless people in SWFL? Homeless hiding in Collier, Lee counties

A Naples park was abuzz on a recent Friday morning with the voices, bicycles and belongings of the dozens of homeless Collier County residents hoping to access resources and supplies.

The SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness conducted its Point-in-Time Count for Collier County, with Sugden Regional Park acting as a hub for volunteers and unhoused people.

People experiencing homelessness also received various goods and services at the site, including fresh haircuts, medical screenings, clean clothing and a hot breakfast….
