Collier Coalition for Healthy Minds is a community response to the mental health and addiction crisis. Together with our board members, volunteers, partners, and people like you, our goal is to raise awareness about the local and national crisis and how our community is working together to save lives.

Established 2020

Our mission is to collaboratively plan for, and support a coordinated effort for a full array of evidence-informed services, to improve the lives of those with mental health and substance use disorders and overall quality of life in Collier County.

MENTAL HEALTH COLLABORATION

Collier Coalition for Healthy Minds includes healthcare, social service, legal and justice system professionals and advocates charged with mobilizing Collier County’s first-ever, five-year mental health and addiction services strategic plan. Healthy Minds is a community response to address the growing mental health and addiction crisis compounded by the coronavirus pandemic, opioid epidemic and suicide crisis.

 

Our Priorities

 

Crisis Support

Build and operate a central receiving facility/system to serve persons experiencing an acute mental health or substance use crisis.

Housing and Services

Increase housing and supportive services for persons with serious mental illness and or/substance use.

Data Sharing

Establish a mental health and substance use disorder data collaborative for data sharing, collection and outcomes reporting.

 

Justice System

Increase capacity and effectiveness of justice system response for persons experiencing serious mental illness and/or substance use dependence.

Transportation

Revise and implement non-emergency Baker Act and Marchman Act transportation plans.

Advocacy

Improve community prevention, advocacy and education related to mental health and substance use.

 
 

Special Considerations

Improve services to veterans and seniors who are experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders. Specific attention must be paid to their unique needs in all activities related to the six priorities, ensuring there is easy access to treatment and specialized programs.
